From Aberdeen to Adelaide, Capetown to Chicago, Tokyo to Toronto, Boston to Bombay... Our dance is related to Irish Ceilidh dancing, French Canadian contredanses and quadrilles, English Country Dancing, New England contra dancing and square dancing. We execute similar figures, using footwork and phrasing that is suited to the Scottish lilt and energy applied to the music. The elegant and vibrant strathspey is especially popular. Regular dance season: September through early June, including an annual Ball in April and a weekend workshop in early June. Special summer events include Dancing in the Park and the Highland Games. Read more about us through the links at left. Questions? Read our FAQ or contact us for further information... Singles and couples, all ages are welcome. We make a practice of changing partners throughout the evening. Come to a class, or drop by one of our socials to watch the antics! |
